Class Descriptions

Yoga by Degrees offers a variety of vinyasa (or “flow”) yoga classes which link breath with movement to create a moving meditation. Classes are Hatha yoga based (incorporating basic traditional postures) and are designed to accommodate every level and interest. There is a wide variety of other class formats to complement the vinyasa practice including: Restorative yoga, Yoga Sculpt, Traditional Hot Yoga, YBD HOT, Restorative/Meditation, and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) Pilates classes with weights. All classes are heated and the level of heat depends on the class.

A gentle yet challenging, slow paced class that combines the concepts of Taoist yoga with traditional hatha based seated yoga postures. In this meditative yoga class, poses are held for longer periods of time in order to stretch and, over time, lengthen the deep connective tissue in the body and improve joint flexibility. YBD Restorative yoga specifically targets the ligaments and tendons in joints in order to improve range of motion and flexibility. YBD Restorative yoga, which was based on “Yin yoga”, was designed to help you sit longer and more comfortably for the purpose of seated meditation. Slow down your vigorous yoga practice with a calming YBD Restorative yoga class and leave feeling like you’re floating on air. Class is room temperature (about 78° F) and complimented by soothing music. All levels welcome. 60 minutes.

"This place is beyond fabulous. Great instructors, clean studios, and a friendly environment. I had never taken a yoga class before in my life, so I was a tad anxious to try it. After being welcomed and told that I could go at my own pace, I felt a bit more comfortable. After taking the first class, I was hooked. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be and the instructor was willing to answer any questions I had without making me feel like I was asking silly questions."
